A leader, I suppose, does not have to be consistent in his convictions, but I would hope he was. And I suppose that being a hypocrite would not necessarily keep you off the short list of qualified leaders, though I would not knowingly choose the hypocrite as my leader. I guess that my respect has nothing to do with being a leader either, even if I do wish that someone cared about earning respect and being respectable. And so, while a leader does not mean being a moral leader, or a good leader, I suppose that the U.S. leading the world is as appropriate as Hitler leading Germany. I guess so...
