Louise Heal was born in Scotland and brought up in Luxembourg. She was nearly put off writing for life by a succession of well-meaning English teachers who made her read out her stories in class. Despite their pleas, she studied Maths at King's College London then entered the world of IT.
Louise has pursued her urge to travel during several career breaks. Her notable memories include a mountain in Borneo and a very nice Hanoi hospital.
Louise joined a travel writing group in 2002. She began by writing small articles, but is currently working on a longer project about Kerala in South India. She is working on a blog at http://thepeppertrail.blogspot.com
Louise is also a finalist in the Bradt Travel Guides/Independent on Sunday travel writing competition 2007 and can be contacted at louise_heal@hotmail.com
