About me - Alycia Morales

About me

My name is Alycia Morales, and I am many things.
First and foremost, I am a child of God. I am never afraid to confess that Jesus is Lord of my life. I would not be here if not for Him, and I love Him above all else.
I am also a wife. I've been married for almost 11 years. I love my husband more than anyone else in the world!
I am a step-mother, and although not an easy path, a very special one.
I am a mother of 4 young children, each of whom has their own definite personality, but also has similarities with the others. They keep me on my toes and out of breath most days!
I am currently self-employed as mother, writer, paper-craft artist, and manager of my home.

I began writing at an early age, enjoying poetry as my main form of writing medium. I was published in an anthology entitled "Windows on the World" when in my teens. I was also chosen out of thousands of other students to attend a writers' workshop week at Hartwick College the summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school. It was a small group, so I was honored to attend and consider it to be a great success point in my life. I decided to pursue a degree in Mass Communications with a focus in Journalism upon graduation from high school. My dream was to write for magazines. I always loved the colorful pages and print. They drew my attention like ants to sugar. Life took some other directions, however, so I never did complete my degree. Fortunately, God used my education later, as I have had to write a few press releases in the past. I have always loved writing, and I ate up composition classes in college. I have continued to journal and have begun to blog, as well. It is a passion that I still carry within me, and I will someday write a book. Until then, I will continue to befriend my keyboard and allow my fingers and my thoughts to dance.

Celebrations & Holidays > Christmas Reasons to send Christmas cards

My mailbox sits virtually empty eleven out of twelve months of the year. It has become a lonely place to visit. Even my household bills no longer show up in this daily-visited place. With the emergence of online social websites like facebook and email inboxes, where mail and daily information can be sent in a matter of seconds to the recipients, snail mail has become almost null and void. I can remember the days when I felt a tremendous joy from deep within, as I opened up my mailbox and found a hand-written letter from a loved one or a dear friend.
