About me

I graduated from Indiana State University with a BS in Economics and Political Science in 2001, but of course my current line of work has nothing to do with that at all. I actually work in the Home Equity lending department of a regional bank in our area. I also have a part-time web design and computer consultant business called StarGazer Productions, but it is pretty informal and irregular in the work I do.

My personal pleasures and hobbies include non-fiction reading, especially World War 2 history, Astronomy, and Astrophysics. I also enjoy various forms of gaming, including board games, miniatures wargames, role playing games, and computer games. My favorites of these are when they also correspond and coincide with my love of WW2, so games set in that era are my particular love.

My "official" role on Helium is that of Steward, overseeing the Astronomy sub-Channel in Sciences.

I don't think there's any real doubt that climate change is occurring. Of the ten hottest years on record (over about 180 years), 6 of those years have been since 1995.

What IS in doubt is the following:

- How much of this warming, if any, is due to human activity?
- Is this warming just a temporary "warm spell" or a long term trend with little/no end in sight?
- What are the long term consequences, if any?
- What, if anything, can humans do to alter or change these consequences?

I don't think there's any real consensus on any of the answers to these questions, and those are ...
