My name is A. Marie and I am a freelance writer from Canada. I was a published author at the age of 12 with a young adult novel in the fantasy genre. I have been working with a local theater company and have been writing stage plays, screenplays and novels. I look forward to having a chance to write for Helium and to be a part of a writing community.
I was about to self publish my first novel but I read the fine print (always read the fine print) and realised that they were going to give me 10% of my earnings and take 90%. Oh well at least I didn't sign anything.
The series that I am working on is about a young girl whose life is turned upside down when her father loses his job and they are forced to move across the country. The series is called "The Pom Pom Diaries" and so far I am the first 5 books completed and am working on the 6th. I also have a speculative fiction series that I am working on. I prefer working on a series because when I get an idea for a story, I usually end up looking at the future of the characters and find new plot lines that might exist years down the line. But I do have a stand alone novel that i have finished about circus folk tryign to make a go of it in the burbs. That one has been adapted for the screen and will be entered in a film contest. Wish me luck.
I am hoping to be selling my novel in paperback format througha website but I am not good at web design. I know what I want in my head but getting it out of my head and onto the screen is my problem.

My best moment ...
I was waiting for a friend at a mall and I ran into him. We sat and talked for a while and he confessed that he had strong feeligns for me since the time we first met when I was 16 and he was in his 20's. He told he how he wished that he had the courage back then to tell me. We didn't have much time togetehr after that though because he was leaving in a month for Thailand but at least we got to spend that month together.
"Dear Mommy," Alyssa wrote in her diary. She looked down at the page for a moment, wondering to herself if maybe she was getting a little old to be starting her diary that way. She scratched it out and started again on the line below it. "Dear Diary ..." She looked at the page and once again scratched out what she had written. Just before she had passed away, Alyssa's mother had given her a diary and told her that when she was feeling sad, she should write down how she was feeling in the diary. She told Alyssa that even if she wasn't there to talk to Alyssa about her problems, she would kn...
