Well my name's Melanie or Mel as I prefer to be called :)
I live in a large village in the UK.
I've always enjoyed writing though it's mostly poetry, but I thought it was time to try my hand at something new.
This will be the first time i will have written something for the public to view so I would greatly appreciate your opinions on my articles and work.

Getting a kitten for my birthday when I was 5, my aunt brought him round in a box and put him on the floor then the box started jumping round the room.

Mind Trap Held captive within a box, With pictures and sounds as it's locks, Lured to a world that's not quite real, Seduced by stories too surreal, The mind imprisoned for hours on end, Inside this world of constant pretend, Detained inside this man-made terrain, It fears it won't imagine again, So how joyful it is, when the colours fade, The box is black and silent made, Now at last the mind is free, Someone has at last, switched off the TV.
