I have been troubled by TV advertising I have been seeing lately that offer major reductions in the amount of tax debt people may owe the IRS. These advertisements got me to thinking about who really is benefiting from these programs. For the past 6 years I have done taxes during the tax season for a major tax firm and generally see close to 350 people each year. Most of the people I see are in the range of 15,000 to 150,000 dollars of income per year.
