The simple fact is that this sci-fi fan club is no more than a cult, though the even simpler fact is that ever religion begins as a cult. The definition of a cult is a group of individuals holding a common religious, philosophical or any other belief. This would easily define the Scientologist camp as a cult, however it would also define the beginning of any movement as a cult no matter what it became afterwards.
