About me - Peter Beolingus

About me

I am 6 ft 185 lbs, 40 yrs old. I have short military type haircut, I work out with weights and go swimming. I love history, philosophy, and literature. I also dabble in politics but not too much. I love writing, doing research, visiting historic sites, museums, etc.

I am a borderline Extrovert/Introvert. As the Book of Wisdom says, there is a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing. I'm a Gemini, but I don't have a dual personality. (Neither do I.) I tend to see both sides of a position, but I'm not wishy-washy.

I'm a sociable, responsible guy. I enjoy theatre and some movies, especially science fiction, mysteries, and horror stories. I want to see the good guys win. You know it's a bad movie when you're rooting for the monster!

One of my nicknames is The Nutty Professor because I come up with all sorts of unusual observations. I can't do math at all and I don't think it's that important. After all, God gave us calculators, didn't He?

Another nickname is The Absent-Minded Professor, but I can't remember why they call me that.

Politics, News & Issues > US Military (Other) Modern American society and its views on warriors

In WWII and the Korean War, the media and entertainment industry supported our troops and recognized the necessary and honorable career of the military person. Since Vietnam, a war started by politicians (Democrats)with no intention to win, the liberal media and entertainment industry have tried to paint all men and women who join the military as either losers who could not get jobs in civilian life, sociopaths wanting an excuse to kill with sanction, or cowards hiding behind uniforms and desks while they send their subordinates to die. Vietnam was a debacle not because of the military but...
