I have finished my BA in English and am now looking forward to using that degree. Where it will take me, I do not know, so if anyone has any suggestions they are welcome.
I am also interested in politics and current events, and am apalled by the state of the world today. I cannot say if things are worse today than they were in the "good old days" since I was not alive in the "good old days," but it does seem like the world is accelerating faster toward oblivion. But then, that is just the natural progression of things so I try not to worry too much about it.
I teach English in the Czech Republic, maintain a blog, and try to keep an eye on the world at the same time. Of course, I also spend my time writing and reading articles here at Helium.
After one of the bloodiest weekends ever in Iraq, in which over 220 people were killed as the result of car bombings, suicide bombings, and shootings, Iraqi civilians have decided that they've had enough. They have lost confidence in the ability of Iraq's security forces to protect them and bring peace to the shattered country.
