The name's Roderic Williams, I am 23 years old. Currently I am a graduate student at Hampton University. I'm studying to be a counselor. As a counselor, they emphasize self-examination, so after nearly a year as a counselor I can accurately and honestly talk about me.
I'm a very welcoming individual, I personify the term "Southern Hospitality", I try to make everyone feel welcome. I'm very cool and calm, I love to laugh and often try to make light of any and every situation. I'm not perfect though, I'm in process. I have problems saying no to people that I like or admire. I am recently single, so I'm just getting used to that day by day. On the flip side, I love people. I love meeting new people. I work my @$$ off wherever I am. I've never been the one to slack off at any aspect of my life. I work as a counselor at the Barry Robinson Center. I love my job and the kids I work with even though they're worrysome! I live at home with mom, stepdad, bro, and uncle (for personal and family reasons, not cause I'm a scrub thank you! Lol) I love to have fun, If I'm hanging out with people, I'm rarely bored. I have been told that I make other people feel at ease so you can be yourself around me. I'm 100% genuine, no bull, no smoke and mirrors! One of my passions is writing (take a look at some of my blogs sometime). I like to talk about random things that interest or bother me in society. It's not always about others either, sometimes it's about me. I'm comfortable enough to talk about my flaws, and yeah people are gonna talk. They talked about Jesus, so I know they'll talk about me. So...if I sound like a person you'd like to be cool with, good for you, if not, hey there's different strokes for different folks.

I never really understood the relevance of standardized tests. I feel that they hinder the creativity of the teachers. In the state of Virginia, we have the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests. These tests are given at the end of the year for each of a student's core classes; English, Math, Science, and Social Studies throughout the student's high school career. The lessons are intended to prepare the students to pass the SOLs. Here's how ineffective I felt that the methods were. I vaguely remember anything from my ninth through eleventh grade years. All I remember is that we flew through ma...
