I am a 42 year old master sergeant in the Colorado Air Guard.
During the Cold War, I served in the Army in Germany, leaving it in 1989, after the fall of Berlin Wall and staying there on my own for a few years, traveling and learning the customs and language.
In 1998, I entered the Reno Air Guard to help pay for my associate of general studies degree before transferring to the Colorado Air Guard where I was activated - on 9/11 - for several years of service in the Air Force.
My grandfather was a World War II veteran and later became a writer and technical editor for a defense contractor at a time when it was possible to get such a job without a college degree.
I love to write - when I can overcome the challenges of too little time and too much writer's block.
While I learned a lot about the mechanics of writing from my grandfather, I want to bring more passion to the craft than technical writing allows for. I write primarily about my experience and people and their varied perspectives-being fascinated by the duality of human nature and the great, deep questions that are fun to ponder, but the act of which usually yields no bread to the table.
