Hello!
My name is Penny. I hope my readers will find great pleasure in reading the few articles I have posted so far. Unfortunately, due to a very busy family life, my professional writing career tends to get put on a backburner at times. I am hoping to remedy the situation in the near future, by moving my career to the fore burner.
To give my readers a little background: I am married (second marriage), have three grown children, and five grandchildren. I live in a very rural area of Southeast Oklahoma, and am responsible for the care of our home, ten acres of land, and several animals. I also actively maintain good relationships with my mother, four siblings, and their families. In addition, I attempt to maintain close relationships with several relatives that are more distant, and many friends.
I have recently attended Kaplan University as a full-time on-line student (June 2007- March 2008). I was majoring in communications. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding, I had to drop out before attaining any degrees. However, I hope to use the knowledge gleaned from these courses to improve my writing.
Unfortunately, most of my current articles were submitted to Helium.com before I took any writing courses, so are in need of revision. I plan on making these revisions, especially correcting all the typos and formatting errors, in the near future. Therefore, if you find any typos or other errors, please contact me.
I enjoy writing and holding conversations with others. One of the main reasons that I desire to write is to share the vast knowledge and life experiences that others and I have gained. Several people, including my classmates and family, have suggested that I write a book to share all my unique life experiences with others. However, I tend to believe that everyone has "extraordinary" experiences while living their daily lives. They simply do not realize how interesting their lives are to other people. I hope to make people more aware of how their life stories are worth hearing about.
Through research, I have learned that one of the best ways to become a successful writer is to find your own "niche." Although I can understand the reasoning behind this idea, I find it very hard to follow up on the advice. I have such an inquisitive mind that I tend to find everyone and everything in life interesting.
Due to my active mind, I have many hobbies. Moreover, I have gained quite a bit of knowledge through diverse fields of study, as well as through diverse fields of employment. I have also had a wide range of life experiences due to my willingness to explore the world around me. Therefore, I am hoping that the reader and rater feedback will give me guidance on what my "niche" should be. I am highly looking forwards to hearing from my readers. I will sincerely appreciate all the constructive criticism, and will consider any suggestions that are made
