In May 2001, I earned my B.A. in English at the University of Maryland University College European Division. Prior to my college degree, I worked as a typesetter, electronics technician, and a military contractor.
My publishing credits include Bibliophilos, Acumen, and other small literary journals. Also, I have had a couple of editorials published in the Stars and Stripes, a military newspaper. I have a strong online presence with one blogspot for information on Wegener's Granulomatosis and another on creative writing.
My hobbies include Amateur Radio, writing, reading, and volunteering for the Vasculitis Foundation. I volunteer because I have an autoimmune disease called Wegener's Granulomatosis.
At this time, I am editing my first and second novel. My third novel is still in the works.
At Helium, I am the Memoirs Steward. If you need some help writing in this area, I am proud and happy to support you.
My passion is ...
reading, writing, and traveling.
I know too much about ...
illness.
My parents always told me ...
that I was too smart for my britches.
My childhood ambition ...
was to be a vet or an astronaut. Imagination is a wonderful thing.

Reflections on Mother
Sitting at a small table in a German village, I sip coffee and watch the old women walk to the bakery with baskets hanging from their arms. Every morning, they walk briskly towards the smell of bread and broetchen (buns). The bakery opens about 6 a.m. The ladies wrap bread in white paper and hand it to the shoppers.
It is a homey sight. And, the smells of coffee and bread brings back memories of my mother baking. Even to the most dysfunctional family (and we were dysfunctional), bread conjures the smell of hearth, home, and happiness.
My mother liked to bake...
