About me - Sandra Hatler

About me

Although I am legally blind, I still love to write. On the computer I use a combination of window accessibility options and Dragon's Naturally Speaking, speech recognition software. The combination of both of these tools, allows me the opportunity to research my favorite subjects ... and write about them.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

life, and everything that surrounds it

I know too much about ...

nothing. There is never a point when an individual can know "too much"

My parents always told me ...

life is a culmination of experiences

My childhood ambition ...

I desperately wanted to become a fifth grade teacher.

My favorite memory ...

My foster mom meeting me at the door when my writing was published in the newspaper in Santa Cruz, California

Why I write ...

I began writing as child. It was my way of hiding from the world of foster care I lived in. Later in life, it became a passion; a way to mark events in my life - to cherish and revere wonderful experiences.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I read anything James Patterson writes. I love the newspaper. I love Headline News, and CNN

My first job ...

I worked as an emergency dispatcher for an audio alarm company

My best moment ...

I have two. Each one is distinct in itself. They are the birth of each of my children.

My inspiration ...

I am inspired by the world as a whole. We tend to live our lives focused on a small circle around ourselves. I live out of that world, and am inspired by events and circumstances beyond my own little piece of the world
