Working and living in Sacramento, California, I have begun an effort in writing.
My 'day' job is in short, the human version of the tasks the ex-NASA chimps were trained to do: push buttons, and on cue, pull paper out of the works on a machine.
The job is a term (as in limited duration) employee position for one of our nation's (dare I say the world?) telecommunication companies.
A key note here is that I am in the last four months of my current position. The company is upgrading the equipment and will be letting all the 'terms' go (I think they will let many of the regular people go too). I am applying for other positions, but with the CWA (Communications Workers of America) and the Company entering into contract negotiations, the only thing I can hope for is another term position that will be jepardized when the company attempts to Union Bust.
I am working on several works (novels or prescript stories) of fiction, two of which I am workshopping on 'theNextBigWriter.com". Recently I have began to take a correspondence course via the Long Ridge Writers Group.
One of the biggest criticisms that I face from others is the complaint that I am opinionated on everything, even when I am out right wrong...
For this and other reasons, I have stepped up my writing here on Helium.
My passion is ...
Truth, even if it hurts
I know too much about ...
everything, and not enough about much
My childhood ambition ...
was to become an astronaut
Why I write ...
It is a growing need for me to do.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Sci-fi, non-partisan politics. I listen to every type of non-offensive music
My first job ...
fast food
My inspiration ...
truth in justice (something that is disappearing rapidly)
