Before I begin telling my readers about myself, I would like to convey a personal message to Helium, and all of Helium's authors.
Thank you Helium for being this poor hill billy girl's school of journalism.
Since I joined Helium my writing style, and ability to relay my thoughts into understandable journalism has evolved greatly.
I personally believe that Helium is shaping this writer, into a professional journalist. Though I have not made allot of money, writing at Helium, and the critique I receive from other authors has been the biggest influence, that encourages me to continue to increase my skills.
Thank you so much Helium for this opportunity of my life time, and for offering me a chance to live out my dream of being a journalist, writing on the issues that matter most in life.
Adoringly,
Angelique Reder
My name is Angelique Reder, and I am a 43 year old house wife and mother of three biological children, 2 daughters from another marriage, and seven grandsons, but I also have a large extensive family due to young adults adopting me.
I become Mom to almost everyone I meet, and people learn quickly that I have no fear of correcting poor behavior.
Often times I am forced to struggle within myself over a major conflict that is going on in my family, as to whether I should speak out or not.
However, now that my children are grown, I have discovered that I have a talent so to speak for spotting conflict before it arises, by becoming acutely aware of the underlying development of a delicate situation.
In my younger years there has been too many events that I allowed to take place because I hesitated to speak out. From young adulthood writing provided for me an alternative outlet. A means to which I could completely express not only my frustration, but a great desire to find a resolution.
As I would write, and allow my thoughts to flow, editing became a means for me to find my solutions, and it has yet to fail me, and I am a middle aged hopeful for the future.
Thus, the birth of my love for politic reporting was born.
Most of my life has been spent in poverty, so I all to well understand how the under belly of America works. I subscribe to no religions but I have great faith in God.
I am very family oriented, and love to spend a great deal of time in the outdoors, doing different activities such as fishing, hiking, climbing, swimming.
When I am home, I love to write, paint, and use photography to express myself.
I have written a book that I have yet to have published, but I am hopeful.
I am a simple woman with complex views, but over the years I have been able to learn how to relay what I am trying to explain in a manner almost everyone can understand.
All though I have a limited documented education, my life experience, and willingness to research my interests has allowed me extensive knowledge in the areas to which I share with others.
My compassion combined with intelligence, and willingness to put myself in other's shoes, so to speak has given me a great advantage, that I share with anyone who wants it. Thus, my large extended family.
However, out of all that I have described about myself, I guess I have to say that there is one thing that I personally enjoy above all my other activities and interests, and that is Storm Chasing.
With just me and my camera I capture, and illuminate the essence of every storm I have chased. I don't go for the tornado shots, although those are interesting. I look for the unique structures in the clouds, and the inspiring awe storms from a gentle shower, to a raging torrent are bestowed upon us by such a natural wonder.
We all know that attacking an unarmed citizen with a weapon of potentially deadly force is a crime. The law I am referencing especially applies to the police, as constitutional law was designed to protect citizens from excessive force being used against them. CBS news reported that there have been over 150 deaths by police attacks with tasers of unarmed civilians since January. The UN and Amnesty International have reported that there are now 290 deaths by tasering in America, and declared the use of Tasers on civilians to be a form of torture. Yet, no one has raised an eyebrow to the laws...
