: About Me

I'm a beat-up old guy who built (a pathetic excuse for) a career as a US Department of the Army civilian employee by taking jobs in some of the less desirable corners of the world...and to tell you the truth, I wouldn't change a day of the 32 exciting and memorable years I spent supporting our Army and its difficult worldwide missions.

I've had the honor of being present when history was made in Korea at the Demilitarized Zone, of traveling throughout Africa during the darkest days of Soviet expansionism across that continent; of working in and traveling through most of the Islamic world, and most recently of helping the Afghan Ministry of Defense leadership learn to communicate with the Afghan People. Over the decades I've met and worked with the military leadership of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the leaders and opinion drivers of most Central and South Asian nations.

But most of all I have been given the gift of friends from around the globe. I've known the famous, the infamous, the common person and the elites; many are kind enough to call me 'friend.'

As of now I'm semi-retired but am itching to get back into the saddle and ride into my next adventure - wherever that might be.
