About me - B Borcyk

About me

I have been writing since I learned how. My mom used to get irritated when she would buy a spiral-bound notebook, and she would flip to a new page which was filled with what she considered nonsensical jibberish.

I almost always scored high in school when it came to writing assignments. My brother made fun of me for taking too much time to write essays, but I always liked to write them. (Especially opinion papers).

Then I went to Monroe Community College, where I'd earned enough scholarships to pay for my first semester without any assistance from my parents. I took as many journalism courses as I possibly could. I also loaded my schedule with Professional Writing, English Composition, and Literature courses. I graduated in 2003 with an A.S. in Communication and Media Arts.

Of course, life changes, and money became scarce, so I accepted my first real full time position with Verizon Wireless as a Customer Service Representative. I could no longer do as much writing, but I did continue my education, with their assistance. I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Medaille College, out of Buffalo, NY. (They have a satellite campus in Rochester.)

Upon receiving my degree, I assisted supervisors with creating Power Point presentations, reports, proposals, and many other documents. I then accepted a position in healthcare with DePaul Adult Care Communities, where I then became the Administrative Assistant. I created many professional documents for the company.

Presently, I am a Team Leader with the same company where I pass medications and supervise the building during the absence of administration. I am interested in the healthcare field and have since enrolled at Isabella Graham Hart School of Practical Nursing, where I hope to become an LPN in June 2010.

I am a writing addict, and I am still constantly coming up with interesting ideas for things to write. While I'm not necessarily pursuing a career in writing, it is a dream of mine to make a living doing something I love doing, and writing would be the number one thing I would love to make a living doing.
