Hi, My name is Bob Innes. I live in the beautiful Adelaide Hills some 45 kilometres from the capital of South Australia, Adelaide. I have spent a lot of time in the Northern Territory, working with Aboriginal artists over many years, and I write mostly about Aboriginal art, culture and history.
Much of my writing is displayed on my Desert Star blog, which is connected to my Desert Dreams website, which has artworks and information on display. I also do a lot of photography, and have collections of traditional singing in tapes and video.
I am currently working on a film script, telling of the career of Captain Collet Barker, who befriended Aboriginal people in very remote regions in the early 1800's in Australia, before tragically being speared to death in a region where aggressive and wild sealers had mistreated the original inhabitants.
My passion is ...
Aboriginal issues, politics, social justice, photography, nature, music.
Why I write ...
To share knowledge, and shape ideas.
