Would you please take a moment to read more about me?

I am a passionate writer with a compassionate heart and a strong sense of conviction.

Writing has been my forte since the school days when I excelled in letter and essay writing.Primarily, my writings reflect outpourings of my thoughts and innermost feelings. It was this strong urge to express in the written word that steadily nudged me on to be a writer.

I was born and bred in the metropolitan city of Bombay, India. I was a voracious reader all throughout my school and college years. In my school years, I read whatever I could lay my hands on.I scribbled notes, added my own versions of what I read and used these new-found words, phrases and quotes profusely in my 'escapades' into the realms of writing.

As I entered college, I enjoyed reading serious literary works like Shakespeare and Wordsworth. Subsequently my all-time favorites remained Motivational and Self-Development books. I periodically contributed to College Magazines while pursuing Masters in English Literature from St. Xavier's College, University of Bombay.

During Post Graduate studies at the University, my writings diversified to span a wider spectrum of society. I tackled social issues especially pertaining to children and youth.

As a free-lance writer to local Women's Magazines like Eve's Weekly and Femina, I periodically contributed a series of articles and acquired the art of writing for magazines.

Having taken a short course in Journalism, I wrote occasionally for local newspapers on current burning issues and delved into the field of investigative reporting.

As a teacher, my writings were informative and inspirational. My articles in Monthly Brochures reached out to students, parents and families in the community.

The turning point came when I undertook a Montessori Training Course in Early Childhood Education at Princeton- New Jersey, U.S.A. This inter-active practical training on an internatonal plane, brought me wider exposure and recognition in the field of education and writing both in my home country and abroad.

However, the defining moment came when I became involved as the Honorary Editor of the Official Publication of Make-A-Wish Foundation, India. It was one of the most gratifying experience in my career.

Writing articles and inspiring stories revolving around children battling with life-threatening illnesses, was truly rewarding. These true stories of courage and hope, portrayed children having a solid grip on reality while facing multitude of challenges. I was elated to note that they had a powerful impact on the host of corporate as well as private donors.

Today, my passion for the written word continues undiminished here in the U.S. where I am currently residing. When I accidentally bumped into Helium on the Internet,it was simply 'love at first sight.' At last, I had found what I had long been looking for.

Helium spurred me on to contribute articles on a much larger platform-right from Creative Writing, Lifestyle, Personal Development, Education and Social issues like Family Values and Relationships.

I strongly believe in the words of Denis Waitley: "Your own sense of value determines the quality of your performance. Performance is only a reflection of internal worth-not a measure of it. The inner winner recognizes her own value and uses it to achieve her goals."

I am endeavoring to do just that. There's so much to give; so much to contribute to. Life has taught me an important lesson: Little things can make a Big difference.
