I grew up in Southern California. My family lived there for 24 years before I got married at the age of 18 and moved inland to San Bernardino. My first and now ex husband was in the construction industry so we moved a lot because he couldn't hold a job for long ( I guess he got bored easily). I lost my mom to cancer when I was 24 and thats when the abuse started. I guess he thought there was no one left to protect me. I stayed with him for a long 14 years too long before I left him. With 3 children and stranded in Las Vegas I befriended a man who worked at the hotel where I was staying and after he found me with 3 knots on my head the size of golf balls he decided it was time for me to get out. He took me and my children to his home and that became my sanctuary. He was there for me through everything and we fell in love. We stayed in Las Vegas together raised children, grandchildren and decided to make a new start somewhere else. When he was offered to partner with another gentleman flipping houses we knew then it was time.We packed our apartment, kids and
pets in a moving truck and make the move to our new home in North Carolina. We now have a new home and a new start.
Our trip across country... that another story.
