Hi, from the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where I've lived since January 2007. I'm a native of South Florida, but never really liked swimming in the ocean (I do like the view) or baking in the sun (I know, I'm crazy). I've worked as a legal secretary; owned a property tax consulting firm with my sister; sold real estate for a year; and finally, owned a used car lot with my fiance in Ft. Myers, Florida (which we were forced to close after 9/11). I lived a couple of years in Austin, Texas (great city!); my daughter lives in Vegas and is getting married in September; and I'm living in a quaint little harbor town in Washington.

I have always been an avid reader and love to write, but the proverbial paycheck had prevented me from actively pursuing a writing career. This past year, I had the opportunity to devote my time to writing. I wanted to finish two fiction novels I've been working on for ages, but I got sidetracked. I stumbled upon Helium and started writing articles. I also write articles for Associated Content, Constant-Content and online magazines; short stories and poems on Writing.com; and enter writing contests. As a result of articles I've sold in Helium Marketplace, I have received additional requests from two publishers to copywrite and copyedit articles.

Helium has provided me with a great venue to display my writing, for which I am truly grateful. But now, it's time to go back to making a real paycheck and write in my spare time. When I retire in about seven or eight years, I will write from my RV as I travel across the country with stops in Vegas and Florida to see my family.

everything, but nothing about anything.

I should have been a teacher.

My childhood ambition ...

was to be a teacher or one of those cute television weather girls.

My favorite memory ...

was watching my daughter, Jennifer, grow up.

Why I write ...

because I love to learn about new things and pass that knowlede on to people (that's the teacher in me) and writing helps me do that.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Currently reading Atonement; watching Discovery Channel, Science Channel, History Channel and way too much politics and news lately.

My first job ...

was a part-time legal secretary trainee after school.

was when I gave birth to my daughter (not during).

My inspiration ...

was my dear mother, Naomi; my fiance, Bob; and always, my beautiful daughter, Jennifer.
