I am a sophomore undergraduate at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. I am of undecided major, but currently considering cognitive science, medical ethics, and secondary education.
I am the author of two books, one self-published and the other currently seeking publication; I also run a small independent tutoring company (for K through undergrad) called Lightspeed Learning.
My interests are wide-ranging, including physics, philosophy, painting, photography, and poetry-and that's just within the letter "p." I am an atheist activist, and the President of the University of Michigan's chapter of the Secular Student Alliance.
TeX is actually a whole class of programs in various distributions, designed for quite literally any operating system on the market (including obscure Linux distributions!); its primary purpose is in typesetting words and equations, and it is in wide use among scientists and mathematicians. The basic idea of TeX is that a keyboard can be used to enter commands representing the purpose of the formatting, and then the computer can figure out from that what formatting to use in the typesetting.
