About me - Leslie Coleman

About me

Eckhard Tolle says, "The next time you are at a cocktail party, try NOT defining yourself by your job, spouse, children or accomplishments." I am going to give that a go:

I am free now, recently divorced after thirteen (13) years of ridiculous separation.

Lately I've been shopping for bicycles and a dental plan.

I live above a horse stable, trading the smell of horse stalls for a beautiful view.

I worry about the upcoming elections, homeland security and my fico score.

I stuff my stories in notebooks, boxes and under the mattress.

I loathe the mail (or is it money), and arrogance.

I take a step back when I hear a person's ego asking questions. Have you heard the saying, You can assume the ego is involved when feeling superior or inferior to another?"

I make time now to watch the stream run over the rocks. Watching the trees move in the wind is good, too.

I am addicted to LeGrande Salon pedicures with hot rocks & towels. But my favorite thing is drifting off to sleep with all my dogs snoozing on the bed.

Writing was a way to get clarity in those areas of my life that were fuzzy, muddled. Through the process I've been humbled.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

moving water. i.e. waves, waterfalls, creeks, fountains, rain.

I know too much about ...

abandonment.

My parents always told me ...

take your elbows off the table.

My childhood ambition ...

was to study Interior Design, in New York City.

My favorite memory ...

is the birth of each child, so there are three favorite memories.

Why I write ...

sometimes to purge a pain; but more to continue learning.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Reading "Life is a Campaign." Watching the election. Listening to any Chill Out CD.

My first job ...

was at the local bakery.

My best moment ...

is anytime any one of my children chatter on about their faith.

My inspiration ...

usually comes from emotional baggage.

DON'T MOVE! You could lose your rights to child and spousal support. Twelve years ago my children and I drove "Daddy" to Tampa International Airport to catch his flight to Ohio. (We'll call him Dan.) Dan was going to Ohio for a job interview that was close to his folk's hometown; so he wanted to stay over a few extra days for a family visit. Dan never came back. A few extra days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I suppose I was trying to avoid the truth; that the children & I had been abandoned. This was the kind of thing that happened to other people; not me. What's more, D...
