A few months ago I had this discussion with my father. We came to the conclusion that a Desktop was much better than a Laptop for a number of reasons:

1. Desktops have much more space than a Laptop. Ever since I was a small child I played computer games and I still do. The requirement at the time was about 32MB, but now they require ten times more and increasing with the new HD generation. A Laptop cannot store nearly as much.
