(Acknowledgement of this base Self allows for greater power for the individual over his or her life, and a compilation of such Selfs leads to a more practical Society).

If an individual, enlisted to represent his or her country in martial and/or strategic ways, ever has an inkling to "opt out" of war, or duty, passed down to him or her by the government which he or she represents, this individual is not a "soldier" at all. So even the suggestion that a soldier be allowed to opt out of a war they "disagree with" is blasphemous, almost treasonous, and is unsupportive of both our troops and our government. It would be one of the final steps of allowing our society to lose its substance. Living in an age of easy access and no accountability, allowing waffling...
