About me - Richard Pearman

About me

My main areas of expertise are computers (particularly graphics), genetics, religion and cacti and succulents. I work in web design/computer graphics and produce a web comic mostly in the underused SVG format.I am knowledgeable about XML, (X)HTML, Perl and Javascript. One of my interests is using free graphics software, especially Inkscape (SVG) and Blender (3D). I also design covers for music CD's.
I've collected cacti and succulents since I was a boy and have propagated plants most botanists haven't heard of! I know a great deal about growing these amazing plants in cool climates.
I've been interested in religions since University and have studied a number of them. I presently attend a Messianic synagogue. I tend to take a Bible believing stance from an intellectual standpoint. I've studied the Priory of Sion and have my own theory about that.
I'm also an aspiring science fiction writer and as well as my web comic, I'm presently working on a novel based on my Priory of Sion theory. I find my degree in Biochemistry and Genetics useful in this and my stories tend to look at the biology of strange organisms.
I was born in Cheshunt, England and now live in Calgary, Canada. I'm married to a professional musician/pet sitter.
