Even though I like to think I am not that old, I retired from a state government after 29 years. Put like that, I sound really old; ancient even. So let's say I am middle aged and young at heart. I live in Mississippi with my husband and my chocolate lab, Chuck. Chuck rules as those who own dogs know.
I have been writing since I was in my teens and have published 20 short stories in newspapers and magazines. I wrote my first "novel" at age 22 and just knew Harlequin would snap it right up. They didn't and when I read it now, I know why. I have written several novels since then but have not reached that elusive agent or publisher who says I have the New York Times bestseller. I continue to plod along though because I have to write and believe I have great things to say. I have wonderful and very prejudice family members and friends because they love everything I write

It is not a Thanksgiving meal without a side of dressing. I am sure many are asking what is she talking about? Stuffing, of course. Being from the South, we call that cornbread side dish dressing and you cannot serve turkey without it. There were seven children in my family and not a single one of us asked Mother for her dressing recipe before she died.
