About me

Just trying to get my blue stars!

I was born in Vietnam and arrived in America when I was five, which was perhaps seventeen years ago. My, how time has moved. I'm currently in college with a double major in English (emphasis on Creative Non-fiction (CNF)) and Science (emphasis on Nutritional Science). Sometimes, I think I'm a serious writer, but then I get lazy again, so I suppose I am a young prentice writer.

I love writing from the personal view. Nothing is more comforting than lying in bed with a good book of creative, amazing, amusing essays. I just finished essays on the number pi, young crack-sellers and prostitutes, ice, orchids, travels through the desert, the meaning of time, the life of lobsters, and fear of the dark.

My favorite things are biographies of eccentric writers, everything concerning the environment, physics, dragons (Eastern and Western), food, and robots.

I love helium. True, it's got weaknesses, but so do all democratic creations. I love to write too, until my attention is captured by a space computer game or I find another writer to obsess over. Yes, that seems to be another hobby of mine, since I consider writers to be the most perfect, amazing, flawed, wretched, inspiring, annoying people ever!

Oh yes, when I grow up, I want to be a writer!

My father was the first one to read romance novels; my mother has told me countless times that she despises love stories-they are too forgettable and perhaps unforgivable. Without saying the words, my father forbid us to read romance novels, but I secretly bought them and hid them in my basement room, behind all the other books. My father has stopped reading romances, perhaps seeing the fruitlessness of it all, but I hope, if not for...
