I wear my sunglasses
to hide the pain inside,
covering the bruises
to satisfy my foolish pride,

I will not let you look at me
can't look you in the eye,
My sunglasses protect me
unnoticed I slip by,

No one sees the real me
when I have my sunglasses on,
pretending everything is okay
Rose colored glasses
make the bad things go away,

I take off the sunglasses
and open my eyes to see,
My demons are here to stay
the monster hiding within is me.
