Yes, as a Christian, I am my brothers' keeper. Whether one looks at scripture or Christian precedent, it is clear where my duty lies. The Bible is replete with examples of Jesus, then later His followers, healing, curing, feeding and caring for the great unwashed. It wasn't each other that were caring for exclusively, in fact, it was those who still found themselves in bondage. These brave evangelicals went to the far reaches of their known world and first healed, then preached. Jesus beseeched us to not just "pray" for the needy, but to show our faith through our works.
