I am a retired primary school teacher. For over 25 years I taught third grade and found that to be the best place for me. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching my students. Presently, I conduct teacher workshops at the local community college. This has proven to be great fun! When we get together there is a wonderful exchange of ideas about how best to help our students. I am new to Helium, however, I am learning that this too provides useful ideas and interesting discussions.

Oh my, can books make me cry! As a parent, a daughter, a granddaughter, or as an educator, I have shed many tears after reading a book. The three books I have selected were the very first ones that came to mind. They are very different stories, however, their common bond is that they can communicate messages which touch your heart. "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch and illustrated by Sheila McGraw left me with such a lump in my throat, that I simply curled up and sobbed. This simple story is about the circle of life.
