I am 57 years old. I grew up in Southeast Missouri and attended Eementary schools in Southeast Missouri below Kennett, Missouri in Caruth and Senath Missouri. I grew up in the sandy lowland area's of the Bootheel of Southeast Missouri. I married in 1970 to a man whom I loved but I could not stay with. And in 1973 we were divorced while I was pregnant with his baby. I have enjoyed my life and traveled to different locations while I grew up. In 1973, I met another man and married him in early 1974. We have three children and have been together for almost thirty-six years.
We moved to Southern Illinois in 1974. Since then I have raised four children and attended John A. Logan college and then Southern Illinois University in Southern Illinois. I have taught in Marion schools, and lots of other schools in Southern Illinois. We have lived our life in beautiful Southern Illinois in the great city of Marion, Illinois. We have fished, swam, and had bonfires in the forests while raising our children. I pray that they will remember the great times that they had growing up as they get older and raise their own children here. We live here, attend Church here and love our family's life here. I love writing stories about our lives here and there in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois. There are other beautiful places that we have visited and soon there will be new stories about camping in Tennessee, and Lake Wappapella in Missouri.
When I write about Southeast Missouri, those stories are taken from my childhood as I grew up in the loneliest part of the state. I don't regret that because it made my life as it is today. A wealth of great information. I love Southeast Missouri. Maybe someday I will go back there, but today my memories sustain me, as I seek to write about the stories of my childhood-some of them are made up. But they are interesting and exciting as I could make them. I also love to write about Southern Illinois and some of the adventures that we had here. Although some of the stories are made up, they are based in fact, or ficition depending on what mood, I was in during the retelling of the story. I hope that you enjoy these stories as I work to create them.

Snakes in the Woods Dad had sent the two older boys (Gerald and Eugene) down the fence roll to find enough wood to keep the house warm in the early Spring days of 1961. Dad needed wood that he could cut big enough for firewood. He also needed enough wood to cook the food that we needed each day. We needed two stoves, a big cook stove that we had in the kitchen, and in the living room we had an old heater stove. We had to have enough wood to last the night in both of the stoves in our big house. The stove in the kitchen was to ccok our meals on and the heating stove in the living room was s...
