Born in Toronto, Canada, Martha Sutton moved to Texas twelve years ago when she married Keith Sutton whom she met on widownet.org. Their interests center around church, music, and their Lhasa Apso dog, Buddy.
Martha owned, bred and showed Shih Tzu dogs for 25 years and has also owned Boxer, Scotties and Lhasa Apso. Her hobbies include writing, scrapbooking and singing (especially in choir). She has a good all round knowledge of purebred dogs and the Dog Fancy.
Martha has traveled Canada extensively and she and Keith still enjoy visits to Ontario and Nova Scotia as well as the middle of the United States.
Four years ago, Martha became an American Citizen. She is very proud to be a dual citizen of Canada and the U.S.
Martha is a published writer, particularly on dogs and travel. She has also done newspaper reporting, public relations and advertising copy.
Bumpy Road to Texas is Martha's first book. It begins when her husband (and dog show judge) suffers a stroke. John is in hospital and nursing home for 14 months until he dies. Martha has been making friends in the new town they had moved to, and learned new skills to survive. She meets a Texan online in a widow/widower support group. They marry; she moves to Texas where with new Hubby's help and church, friends and family, she turns her life into the most positive she has ever known. This is a book that shows that perhaps how we define ourselves is what stops us from being happy and successful. This book is now available.

About 75% of Canadians live within 90 miles of the border with United States. Nunavit, Northwest Territories and Yukon (Canada's territories) are very sparsely populated. The total population of Canada is about 33 million. The railway is what opened up Canada, from east to west and today, you can still travel that trip in luxurious style.
