FREEDOM! Wind in my hair! I didn't have to walk! I could ride, zipping around Atlanta on my new Raleigh Route 1 bicycle. I hadn't named my deep blue commuter road bike yet, her chunky hybrid tires making her look sturdier than perhaps she preferred to look. But my Rachel can hop a curb in a pinch, and I don't know of any racing bikes that can do that. I chose my first excursion destination: The Farmer's Market.
