About me

Rebecca R. Bibbs, Editor
I am the product of two incredibly accomplished families. My mother Annemarie W. Decker set an incredibly high bar, teaching me to read, write ad speak English and Dutch by the time I was 3 years old. I started college studying 300-level German and was graduated five years later with dual degrees in German and journalism as well as most credits required for a minor in women's studies. I started my career with an internship at the Jackson (Mich.) Citizen Patriot, where I was told I would never make it in journalism. Luckily, I ignored them. I am an award-winning journalist with a 20-year career writing for local and national publications, including nearly 10 years at The Indianapolis News, The Indianapolis Star. Mostly recently, I have been writing for Indianapolis Woman magazine. I also am a 1997 Arthur F. Burns Fellow. In addition, I am a public relations professional, having earned accreditation in 2004. I worked more than seven years for Indianapolis Public Schools. Today, I am a stay-at-home mom, raising four boys. In my spare time, I am writing a thriller, "The Nubian Codex."
