Hi, I'm Angela and I'm a full time mum enjoying life in the 'slow-lane' of child rearing. I am into a variety of hobbies - snowboarding, hiking, geocaching, cleaning all manor of foodstuffs off furniture, swimming, fencing, macaroni art and reading. Trained in physics, from which I am happily taking a break, though I am missing it. I have written in a variety of formats for many years, from short stories and poetry to travel pieces and radio plays. Putting pen to paper is one of my greatest pleasures.

No, civil unions should be scrapped and full marriage offered to same sex couples. A few points I considered in my answer to the debate. Children: Children are often cited as a reason why same sex couples should not be able to marry, as if they are allowed to marry then the next step is surely the right to raise a child. I don't believe anyone should be denied the right to parenthood (except in exceptional circumstances such as a history of abuse towards children).
