At first blush this is fairly simple. We're successful if we're not being attacked. But then you realize it's a little more complicated. After all on 9-10-01 no thought of us as being in danger.

What a difference a day makes.

So that brings us to the second criteria of success. We're successful if no one's intending to attack us. And that's where things get a little tricky. You see a lot of people think we were attacked because the terrorists hate us. And believing this leads them to thinking that the key to not being attacked is not being hated.
