About me - Paul Schilling

About me

Hello world! I am J. Paul Schilling and I love writing! I must admit that I have experienced quite a lot in a short lifetime and each individual experience has had a uniquely profound affect on me.

I'd love to share some experiences with you, so kick-back, grab a cup, and enjoy. Not many folks these days can espouse having lived in five different nations on three different continents all before they were 25-years of age. Imagine living in the heart of the Amazon jungle, learning the local dialect and by a happenstance decision find themselves behind the camera working on a Hollywood blockbuster!

I have...and as time avails itself I still do. Yet the decision to move to Australia is indeed one of the major highlights in my life. Having a limited amount of capital, a local Aussie mate and I invested in some very, very small companies. When the markets had turned against us we were doomed! We decided to travel the entire continent of Australia. Isn't it just amazing the folks we meet when traveling?

We ended up in Surfer's Paradise which is in Queensland, Australia, better known as the Aussie's Play Ground. Whilst living in Surfer's sure enough one of the companies we invested in needed some assistance in liquidation. We knew the chairman and board of directors and ended up with a very, small...(right!) teeny-tiny publishing company that had never really published anything.

But we did...something had to be done with all those photographs we'd taken so why not put together a coffee-table style book? And we did! It was very successful; I guess folks just liked our photography; or, maybe it was the little written commentary for each and every place we visited. Today she's the largest independent publishing house in the southern hemisphere.

I wasn't even thirty years of age yet! So I decided to attend university. And I did! In fact, I've attended university in every nation I've lived in. I think it's safe to say that I love learning and the educational environment. Well got the degrees, then went on to graduate school and got some more degrees, then I began teaching.

So up to this point, who do we know that became a stock broker that took him to Central and South American exotic places, who took a short break to help out some family in the film-making business who met some success in front of and behind the camera who vaulted down-under and became a best-selling author-publisher?

Me. Oh yeah, in the interim I studied Law and continue to write daily on any one of my three blogs: The Thinker, Simpleminds, and the American Age. All can be readily accessed by typing the standard URL: http://onemorecup.wordpress.com/or http://simpleminds.wordpress.com/ or http://americanage.wordpress.com

Catch-up! We've got some talking to do!

Society & Lifestyle > Immigration Issues Illegal immigration: Arrest them or send them home?

Using common sense and logic based on Western civilization's morals, ethics, and cultural norms it is imperative that the United States of America become united in support of being a sovereign nation that has borders as well as over 200 years worth of legislation that is incredibly simple. However, let's examine why we are even debating this hot-bed of an issue. All things being equal, the U.S. could handle a reasonable amount of legal immigration annually. Moreover, if the U.S. simply stuck to the laws that various Congresses have legislated, it is even conceivable that seasonal or guest ...
