Shut up. Seriously, that's my advice. The best way to make people think that you know more about a subject than you do is to talk less. Learned people (not necessarily intelligent people) tend to listen more than they talk. That's how they became learned. You do not learn while you are talking, you do learn while you are listening. Even in corporate boardrooms, the person who appears to be the wisest is the one listening intently to what's being said and carefully weighing each word before he expresses his opinion.
