My 12th grade English teacher used this quote from a poem by Robert Browning to describe me: "God's in His Heaven. All's right with the world". I'm the type of person who says, "Can't we all just get along?" Sometimes I wish I wasn't, as I tend to be somewhat of a door mat, but that's the way I am.
I've been perpetually on a diet since 1993, so you will probably never see a picture of me on this website unless I post one of Catherine Zeta-Jones.
I've been married to my exact opposite for more years than I can remember, and we haven't killed each other yet!
We have two fantastic sons. Our oldest son, Joey, passed away in 2007. In losing him, I lost my best friend. The two of us were so much alike. Though I miss him dearly, he was a Christian, so I know he is in a better place. His younger brother, Josh, is a mixture of personalities (mine and my husband's). He is very industrious and inventive, and a good kid (see "My parents always told me" under "Briefly me").
This is me in a nutshell. Ciao, baby!
My passion is ...
Learning. I live to learn.
I know too much about ...
The meaning of life. I've read the book. I know how it ends.
My parents always told me ...
I was a good kid, but then they'd say, "But who likes good kids?"
My childhood ambition ...
To be a ballet dancer or an ice skater. What was I thinking?
My favorite memory ...
Has yet to happen . . .
Why I write ...
Because I can.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
For the most part, if it isn't one of these types of books or magazines: Business, Christian, or Health, it doesn't get read by me. I was totally addicted to watching Monk on Friday nights. In fact, I'm having withdrawals since he went off the air. I love sci-fi movies from the 50's & 60's. I listen to oldies a lot. Am I strange, or what?
My first job ...
Babysitting. I was three. My grandmother was changing my cousin's diaper and asked me to watch him. I did. I watched him as he fell off the bed.
My best moment ...
See "My favorite memory" . . .
My inspiration ...
My oldest son, Joey, who always inspired me to do better, follow my dreams, and never ever give up.
