Lasr week (on 6/18/07), CNN.com reported, "Airstrike on al Qaeda kills 7 children in Afghan madrassa." Our military claimed to have made efforts to avoid civilian deaths, which in hindsight appears to have been insufficient. But what inspired me to initiate this debate was the following comment from a military spokesman on the matter: "This is another example of al Qaeda using the protective status of a mosque, as well as innocent civilians, to shield themselves.
