About me - Kristie Theobald

About me

I've been a writer since I could hold a pen and have only just started writing on a slightly more professional capacity.

My inspiration for writing I believe comes from God and the angels, as well as from earthbound stuff such as family, friends, work, holidays, and many other life experiences!

At the moment I have two books published - my autobiography - which chronicles my childhood and teenage years as an Irish dancer and how the musical duo Foster & Allen touched my life - and a photography book, showing off my other passion - my beautiful cat Leo. Check them out at http://www.kristietheobald.net

Briefly me

My passion is ...

My darling cat, Leo

I know too much about ...

The beautiful land of the Emerald Isle. I'm Australian but my heart thinks it's Irish... for some reason

My parents always told me ...

That they imported me from Ireland in a little green egg and I was born in Sydney

My childhood ambition ...

To perform Irish dancing at a Foster & Allen concert

My favorite memory ...

I think the one I'd cherish at this moment would be when I first saw Ireland as my plane was about to land. That was magical.

Why I write ...

When I was a kid at school I had no voice. Well, not literally. But I was so shy, I wouldn't speak up in class about anything. So I wrote to express myself. Nowadays I still write to express myself, but more for fun rather than a necessity... as I am now told on a regular basis to shut up.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I have too many favourite books and authors to list. TV shows and music - well, I love the Simpsons, Futurama, Ghost Whisperer, Foster & Allen my all time favourite group but I also love Aussie country music.

My first job ...

Medical receptionist. I'm sorry but doctors are such pigs to work for! Never again!

My best moment ...

When I first saw Leo in the the pet store and knew he was mine.

My inspiration ...

My loved ones, including best friends, life experiences, and my God and angels.

Creative Writing > Reflections Reflections: Following your dreams

I grew up being told to follow my dreams. Yet more often than not, every time I expressed a desire to do something I'd immediately get told just why that wouldn't be possible. My dad was the worst. When I said how much I wanted to meet my favourite band, he verbally shot me down in flames, giving me all the reasons why that wasn't going to happen. I've been wanting to follow my dreams for years. Since I was eighteen years old, I've been in office jobs. When I left school, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life, beyond writing and teaching Irish dancing. My dad told me to...
