My mother's entire family lived in South St. Louis which made me wonder why we lived in North County until I finally understood my father was from Northern Ireland.
Dad was a wonderful soccer player. Mom loved to cook and play softball. I remember dad winning a writing contest about America and a subsequent trip to Jefferson City, Mo. where he spent the weekend with mom while my 4 siblings and I terrorized Grandma.
I love to write. It helps me see who I am; that I am blessed for sure to live in a such a great country and be part of a wonderful family. I'm putting the final touches on a short story about a nursing home for a fiction contest.
