I am a writer in a Postmaster's body. I've been a postal employee for over 30 years and hoping to devote more time to writing when I eventually retire.
In fourth grade our teacher wanted to get rid of the puppet stage and she decided to have us write an article as to why we wanted it and the best one would win. That was my first blaze of glory. I kept the stage for years-not sure if I ever used it...
I won a book for a limerick I wrote about a soap opera and I've had a few articles published in local newspapers. One was regarding my husband's name (George Washington). We will have been married 35 years this year. I have two wonderful grown children, Tiffany and Benjamin and a cat, Joshua. (Lost my best friend, springer/spaniel terrier, Patches, over a year ago).
I have also won a local short story contest and I just want to do more and more. I love it when people enjoy my writing-making them smile or chuckle or maybe even cry-just touching the emotions one way or another.
I have many projects-a novel, short stories and even a comic strip. Working does seem to get in the way of writing, but I am trying to juggle.
