Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains is a small town I call home. There must be magic in this place for though I've done my share of traveling, Georgia always calls me back.
I've been writing since childhood and have sold poems and articles in both online and hardcopy magazines as well as a front page newspaper article about Battered Women.
Always captured by any form of creativity, I find myself spending my retirement as a freelance writer with three books almost ready for publication. I enjoy serving as the Travel Channel Sub-Steward for the Southeast United States at Helium.com and writing articles about travel, health issues, gardening and family.
My style is down home, full of laughter and often plain old common sense. I have a wide range of interest from gardening and wildlife to the plight of the homeless and where this country is heading. My friends and family are your everyday run-of-the-mill, humble, down to earth, hard working, fun loving, and God-fearing people.
I believe it is important to give back to the world in meaningful ways. I have served on a committee to create a Battered Women's Shelter, taught Sunday School, served on the board of a day care center, worked in food drives for the needy, taken in homeless children, given monthly to Feed My Starving Children and sponsored a child in Ethiopia through Christian Children's Fund.
I am the same everytime you see me; what you see is what you get because life is too short to bother pretending you are anything other than what you are. I've never met anyone better than me or anyone I was better than.
