My writing is therapy for me. You see, almost 13 years ago we added another child to our family of 4. He was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder from his birth mom drinking while she was pregnant. Our family has had so many ups and downs but I thank God for every lesson I have learned from being a mom, wife and mom of a special needs child.
I am so blessed and honored to be the adoptive mom of 3 wonderful children. My oldest two, 17 and 15 are so inspiring to me in the way they deal with our youngest behavioral issues. They are so understanding with him and his daily challenges.
Over the past 12 years I have been fortunate enough to work with several non profit organizations where I have been able to help and support other parents who have children with severe behavioral problems and doing so I feel I have given them the hope that I have for my son's future.
We are quickly moving into a new stage in our lives this year, my 17 year old has been accepted into the two colleges that applied to. As the new year begins he will complete the final paperwork for enrollment to the one he has chosen. My 15 year old Kailtyn has just gotten her learners permit and is now driving me everywhere we go. Things change so fast. Life is such a fast ride you wouldn't believe it if you didn't experience it.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to learn about our family and as you read my articles you will see that with every challenge we have faced we have been rewarded beyond anything we could have hoped for.
