My name is Susan Nagy and I live in the mid-western area of the United States. I was born, raised and still reside in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. I am married to a wonderful man who suffered a stroke in December 2005 and then a heart attack this past December of 2007 about a week and a half before Christmas. We are still making many adjustments from those experiences, but I thank God that he is recovering and that we still have each other.
Life has brought many changes my way and in my mid-fifties, I have experienced a variety of different careers. I was an Art Education major in college, but after 3 years in college, I was unable to finish and complete my degree. However, I did go on to achieve career levels and obtained jobs which normally required a college degree. I was promoted based on my merit, high-quality work standards and performance levels.
One of my favorite experiences was when I was an independent contractor for Home Interiors. That career taught me a lot about home decorating and people, as I was invited into their homes to hold decorating parties.
I also enjoyed a career as a commercial artist working for a small, but very highly-professional Art & Design Studio. There I learned the importance of high-quality work and striving for perfection.
On a more personal level, I am an artist and a singer. I love singing and drawing. I sing in my church choir, on the praise team, perform solo work, present gospel concerts and sing a song or two with my husband's classic rock band.
I have three grown children: a boy and two girls. I'm a military mom: my son served 4 years in the Air Force and is still on active duty in the Air Force Reserves.
My favorite role right now is that I'm a first-time grandma to my adorable little 22-month-old grandson, Joshy. He's the joy of my life. We have a second grandchild coming in July and Joshy will be the big brother. What a blessing grandchildren are to everyone - I can hardly wait to have another baby in the family.
As for my writing career - I started writing seriously when I held a Marketing Programs Coordinator position. My boss, the Marketing Director, requested that I write some articles for promotional flyers and brochures. I tried it, seem to have a knack for it and have loved writing ever since then.
I love Helium.com and use the site for relaxation and unwinding. It relieves the stress of the long, hectic days that sometimes clutter my life.
