Hello out there! I'm LaMont Troupe, a new first time dad and budding author.

Simply put I love to write but I could be never sure how good I am or can eventually be at it. I think my work is good and whenever I read old articles I've written they still stand up in my mind. Helium is an excellent avenue to explore just how good I can be at writing. Like all writers, I have been turned down for writing jobs and rejection is truly something you get used to but I stay encouraged.

I currently have a short story book I'm anxious to see in print but haven't been successful at getting published.
How good can I be? I think I can be great at this but it's nice to have a place to find out for sure.

Stimulus package, huh? Well, I just got my notification in the mail from Uncle Sam(IRS) letting me know that they'll be happily sending me a check in the mail in about 6 weeks. What they didn't say in the letter but have said everywhere else is what to do with this windfall: SPEND IT ALL, PLEASE! The incessant double talk is so unnerving, now the government just sounds foolish at best. With the current mortgage mess threatening to send the country into recession, you'd think the letter from the IRS would include this caveat: PAY YOUR MORTGAGE, PLEASE!
